My Journey to Data Analysis- Ezinne Onwuekwe

In honor of In honor of International Women’s Day, we celebrate women who are pushing boundaries in their fields. One such woman is Ezinne Onwuekwe. Read her story.

“My name is Ezinne. I am a public health project manager and I specialize in healthcare data analytics and provide data-driven solutions and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. My skill set includes expertise in visualization tools, data mining, business intelligence, predictive modeling, data manipulation, and statistical analysis. I have successfully executed end-to-end analytics and business intelligence projects focused on specific problem areas.

My foray into data analytics began when I was tasked with digitally tracking and analyzing the status of COVID-19 vaccination in Africa as the new Vaccine Programme Coordinator at Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. With the support of my mentor and career coach, I upskilled on the job and joined data communities like Ingressive4Good to gain industry-tailored support.

Having worked in the pharmaceutical and project management fields, I saw the immense potential for better decision-making and product scaling when data is harnessed and transformed. Currently, I coordinate and provide technical expertise to the COVID-19 vaccine data intelligence and visualization efforts at Africa CDC, where my work has guided data-driven decisions and strategic initiatives on COVID-19 vaccination in Africa. Structuring data to derive insights that answer business needs and improve processes is a challenge that I enjoy.

In addition to my professional achievements, I serve as a mentor in various organizations for pharmacy students and early career professionals seeking careers in technology, data analytics, and/or science. With over ten mentees under my belt from the Pharma Incubation Hub, The P Platform, and the Data Scientist Network, I aspire to be a thought leader in Healthcare Data Analytics and I am always open to networking, inspiring, learning, and growing.”

  1. Hello Miss Ezinne, this is pretty impressive I must say. Kudos to you for this feat you’ve achieved.

I am a master student of Architecture and I’ve got keen interest in tech, especially Data analytics. I have been meaning to get my self hitched with someone that can walk me through the journey of this tech skill, I’d be glad if you could link me up with someone in the field of Architecture..
